Choose the right vault

Resolve scope before the assistant searches or acts.

An MCP client may reach several vaults through one person’s account. It should choose a vault deliberately before every content request.

  1. Call list_vaults when the conversation has no reliable scope.
  2. Use suggest_vault_scope with the current conversation if several names are plausible.
  3. Pass the exact vault value to search, graph, file, meeting, and action tools.
  4. Keep claims labeled by vault when the user explicitly asks to compare two vaults.

Do not merge by default

The same person, product, or acronym can appear in several client vaults. Do not combine those records unless the user explicitly asks for cross-vault analysis and has access to every included vault.

Never run an unscoped content search merely because the credential can reach several vaults. Access is permission, not intent.
